Eating during the 6-8 Hour Window

I shed 10 lbs. on the Daniel Diet! And down 2 more lbs. 3 days later! WOW!!!

I decided to take an extra day before ending the partial fast by making Day 11 an all Suero Viv cleanse day. I did great on 3 Suero Golds and 2 Suero Viv Greens yesterday, and water.

Today, Day 12: After a morning Suero Green and an herb tea, I had my first meal at noon.

Lunch: Herb Salad & Quinoa Stir-Fry.

Herb Salad: A big salad with lots of organic greens and herbs, carrots, cauliflower and almonds. I cut some cubes of local Caciocavera cheese, and added organic hemp hearts and EA Live Sprouted Seven blend. Dressing: Splash of Kombucha Terrain with extra virgin olive oil and Mrs. Dash.

Quinoa & Stir Fry: Nutty-nutritious Quinoa (Inca Red) with a stir fry of sauteed onions, carrots & cauliflower with a super-pure sliced Beyond Organic Beef & Cheddar Hot Dog in it.

It was SO good, I could only eat half of it. I’ll have the rest with dinner.

3PM – I had a delicious, creamy Milk & Honey Amasai as a snack. Heavenly! I can see why the Lord invites us to the “land of Milk & Honey.” All good!

Dinner: Finished up the Quinoa Stir-fry, but this time added some EA Veggie Pulse for some added crunch and nutrition.

Dessert: EA Live Smoothie Ice Cream (serves 2 people)

  • 8 oz. Amasai (Plain)
  • 2 raw eggs (organic pasture raised-optional)
  • 1 fresh banana
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 2Tbsp EA Live Sprouted Seven (Beyond Organic)
  • 1Tbsp raw, unheated honey
  • Vanilla extract to taste (alcohol ext not glycerin)
  • 1Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1Tbsp Raw Almond Butter (optional).

Put in freezer for 2-3 hours and enjoy!

Cleansing and Building Cycles

Jordan Rubin’s explanation of Cleansing vs. Building really spoke to me.

There are foods and beverages which Cleanse the body (fruits and vegetables, Suero Viv, Reign Supreme), and others which Build the body (Beyond Organic or organic meat, dairy, eggs, nuts and other proteins and fats).

Here’s how it works:

From Dinner and overnight until Lunch the next day, we drink cleansing beverages such as Reign Supreme Mountain Spring water (with a splash of Terrain is great!), Suero Viv and/or vegetable juices. These are all body-cleansing beverages. Do not drink protein smoothies (those are “building” foods).

“What?!!! No eggs for breakfast?”

Nope. Eggs are not cleansing foods, they’re building foods. What’s wrong with having eggs at lunch or dinner? Totally do-able on this plan.

From Lunch to Dinner: 6-to-8 hours – Eat building and cleansing foods (Beyond Organic or organic meat, dairy, eggs, nuts and other proteins and fats, salads, fruits and vegetables, starches such as Quinoa or brown rice, sprouted grains, etc.)

This makes perfect sense to me. I don’t think I’ve ever really heard it put that way before, and I’ve studied nutrition since I was a kid. I’ve preached the “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” for years, yet honoring the body’s natural cleansing rhythms is so much easier and more healthful for us.

This way, your body is in cleansing mode for 16-18 hours and building/eating mode for 6-8 hours. You will feel lighter, yet fully satisfied. You will not need to count calories, fat grams or portions. You will reach your perfect weight.

Cleanse Day Wednesday

Every Wednesday, drink only Suero Viv, Reign Supreme Mountain Spring Water and/or cleansing veggie and fruit juices.

Once a Month

Every month, do a 3-day Suero Cleanse. You can learn about that HERE.

    Laurette,
    Thank you for this article. It is full of useful advice to apply to my healthy lifestyle while waiting on the next Daniel Diet. It reminds me of how Paul Bragg (Bragg’s a. c. vinegar and so on) used to say that you needed to “earn” your first meal of the day. I love to start out the day with fresh juice. However, I will need to dust of my juicer as I find it difficult to drink juice first thing on a cold winter morning in the Northeast when I’m yearning for something warm! It’s definitely time to get back to it! One question I do have is this: you recommend vegetable juice with no mention of fruit. Is that intentional? Are fruit juices less preferable than the veggie? I’m sure they raise your blood sugar faster than the veggie…is that the reason for just veggie?

      Thank you, Denise! I certainly do remember Paul Bragg! In fact, he was the mentor of the man who led Jordan Rubin back to health following precepts from the Bible.

      You can mix veggie and fruit juices, if you like. You’re correct, fruit juices’ sugar content is high, so it’s recommended to dilute with water.

      I imagine one can warm veggie juices slightly on cold days. After my morning half-bottle or full bottle of SueroViv, I have a cup of herbal tea about an hour later, and then Reign Supreme Mountain Spring Water with about 10 ml. of Terrain in it. That has been working very well for me.

      I still can’t get over what I can only call the “supernatural” quality of the Daniel Diet – both during and after the 10 days. I’ve continued to shed excess weight. The secret is staying on the Cleansing/Building cycle. Jordan’s new book coming out November 29, 2013 “Maker’s Diet Revolution” will go into this in greater detail (but we get to experience it now!).

      I’ll have some news on the availability of DD shortly. I would like to lead one within the month. I’ll be sure to let you know when I have details!
