“Some of the very worse spinal misalignments that we have seen in 14 years of practice we found present in the spines of people who make a practice of yoga. Instead, we recommend PraiseMoves to our patients.”

  1. I just wanted everyone to know that I have had issues all my life with flat feet or fallen arches…. that was until I started using the 20-minute PraiseMoves DVD. I honestly believe that it is the practicing Correct Body Alignment (CBA) which helps me distribute my weight on the outside of my feet. I have so much more stamina in walking, and I don’t get a sore back when walking on concrete anymore. I bought the DVD to improve my balance and strengthen my core and spend quality time with God in the process. I feel very Blessed and look forward to working my way up to longer and harder DVDs!

I have shared my DVD with several friends, including my wellness coach at the YMCA, a saved Christian, who was just about to take a Yoga class. I shared with him about PraiseMoves and loaned him my DVD. He loves it! I know he will be recommending it to some of his other clients.

Thank You so Much-you have Blessed me!

  2. Thank you, Barb! That’s great news. The “20-Minute PraiseMoves” DVD is divided into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced workouts — and there are modifications for those with physical challenges, too.

That is a WONDERFUL testimony about your feet! Yes, Correct Body Alignment is a huge help — and the Word of God in PraiseMoves and as you say being able to “spend quality time with God in the process” makes ALL the difference!

Thanks for letting us know. May God richly bless you!

  3. Hi Laurette,
I would like some info, on how I can teach Priase Moves I am from Sugar Land TX
I have been running Marathons for the last 10 years+ and Want to help others have a healthy life style.
    Thanks you and Happy living

    1. I sent a PM to you, Todd. Let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you. Definitely need to see more men in PraiseMoves (there are so many in fitness and yoga – so certainly should be in Christian fitness and PraiseMoves!).

  4. I just started PraiseMoves 3 days ago and I absolutely love it. I’ve been considering taking a yoga class for some time now and genuinely appreciate the PraiseMoves alternative which allows me to meditate on God’s Word as an exercise. I broke down in tears the first day as the Lord ministered to me through the scriptures you recite on the video. Thank you. I am excited about living a healthier lifestyle.

    1. This is so lovely to know, Joy! It always blesses our hearts to hear how the Lord ministers through His Word. What a blessing! Thank you for sharing your testimony!

  5. PraiseMoves Ministry and Fitness Program is such a breath of fresh air! It’s moving the body for health benefits, but in a God honoring way.

PraiseMoves is truly an exceptional Ministry which stands alone in its commitment to Biblical Truth. There’s is a spiritual battle raging in our country, as increasingly, eastern philosophies have become mainstream.

Hindu Yoga & Mantra Meditation is now in Public Schools, it is recommended by our Physicians and Health Care Practitioners, it is EVEN accepted in mainline Churches.

PraiseMoves pointedly & lovingly steers Christians away from yoga, which is idol worship, and holds up The Word of God as the only way to change our Hearts, and to Strengthen our Minds & Bodies.

    1. Thank you for your precious words, Leslie. “A breath of fresh air.” In Hebrew, the Holy Spirit is called Ruach HaKodesh, which means “The Holy Wind of God.” He breathes life into an on us. Let us breathe in deeply! Glory to God!

  6. I had not heard of PraiseMoves until I read the book “Truth Seekers”. I bought the book a couple of weeks ago & read it cover to cover twice! I had heard that Christians should not be involved with yoga, but really didn’t know why. (Couldn’t see what harm could be in breathing exercises & stretching moves.) Well, now I know! Thank you for sharing your journey –this is a “must read” for anyone who has a loved one in the New Age movement. Now I can spot new age influences where I never would have before. I work for a medical school & just realized they’re offering yoga classes and guided imagery as supplemental treatment for cancer patients. Heaven forbid!

I’m looking forward to checking out your online store. Any suggestions for where to begin for a middle aged, not particuarly flexible woman? (I’m middle aged if I live to 110 . . . otherwise I’m slightly past my “sell by” date.) Will PraiseMoves help with balance?

  7. Have practiced Yoga for a few years and while I enjoyed the physical benefit from it, I never felt quite right with the practice. I wish I would have found PraiseMoves sooner! While I just placed my order, I was able to rent a dvd recently and can’t wait to receive my own! Looking forward to supporting this for the future!

  8. Shalom from Dulari in Australia
Laurette, I’ve been following you for a number of years now and it’s wonderful to know of the impact PraiseMoves is making and has made. In such a deceptive world, it is imperative that people know and understand Truth. Praise God for PraiseMoves and may you continue to move powerfully in the nations.

Can you please let me know of any contacts here in Melbourne, Australia or if Laurette, you are likely to be coming here. Would love to have the opportunity of meeting.

    Blessings and smiles!

  9. Shalom-shalom, Dulari! We have heard from several who are interested in becoming Certified PraiseMoves Instructors in your area. Hopefully soon! Thank you for your kind words – God is faithful!!!

  10. Dear Laurette, I have had your PraiseMoves video since 2005. I felt I wasn’t strong enough to do the program at the time. Over the last two years, God has helped me find stretches and exercises that have made my back muscles stronger. I also began walking. About a year ago I started doing PraiseMoves twice a week. Now I do it 3 times a week and see a definite lessening of strength and a higher level of muscle pain if I am not consistently using it 3 times a week. I regularly see a chiropractor and use all of the ways to help myself shown to me by God. PraiseMoves is the mainstay of keeping me able to be active and lessen pain. I am 62 years old and I know PraiseMoves will be with me for life. After much prayer and deliberation, today I ordered the AM-PM PraiseMoves DVD and the 20 minute PraiseMoves DVD. I will use my video tape until it wears out and then get the DVD! Thank you and God Bless You, Laurette.

    1. GLORY TO GOD, ELAINE! Thank you so much for sharing your testimony with us! Wow – how powerful is that?!!! I’ll tell you, the physical exercise is great – but it’s the Word of God we hear and internalize in PraiseMoves that makes ALL the difference. May God richly bless you, Elaine!

  11. I just got a praisemoves Dvd,and I love it! I’m not that good at exercise or sports, and I wanted something slow, and that stretches your body. I went to a pilates class at the YMCA, and it was weird. So I researched Christian yoga, and found this! I totally agree with everything, and I’m glad I get to hear scripture throughout my exercise!

  12. Hello
This sounds like a great site – but what about seniors? We still praise the Lord and need to exercise – but at a less strenuous pace and mat work is difficult.
I’m 80 yrs old and still need to move all my muscles, but I must admit exercise is tedious (and my knees would rather not) these days.
This is reminiscent of praising God on my rebounder every am before work.
    Shalom
    Joan

  13. I downloaded the Power Promises Walking Workout this afternoon and immediately went for a 30 minute walk. I LOVE it! How wonderful to walk and listen to scripture and praise God at the same time and all to music that was very inspiring. Are you planning to make any more DVD for walking? I would definitely be interested. I’m looking forward to getting the Gimme Ten and the AM PM. Thank you for what you are doing.
    Shabbot Shalom

    1. That is wonderful, Yvonne! Thank you for letting me know. Yes, I’d like to offer more like this – any way we can get the Word of God into people’s lives, we are ALL FOR IT!!! Amen – Shalom, dear one!

  14. Good morning Laurette,

I just finished listening to you on Julie Roy’s radio broadcast “Should Christians Practice Yoga?
You’re very knowledgeable in both the Bible and yoga and if listeners were seeking the truth they would have heard it through your words. I was determined to call in because most of the callers had fairly good experiences with yoga and even the ones that didn’t, their experiences were not extreme. When my call finally got through, a representative asked me what my question was and took my phone number, she and if they were interested they would call me back. It was late in the broadcast when I finally got through, but I never received a call back.

I had been practicing yoga for one year. My husband is a pastor and I work along side him. I know the ministry and life has challenges but I’ve always been very optimistic, positive and unstoppable for the Lord. I “LOVE” the Lord and spend much time in prayer, Bible study (both personal and group studies) etc. And I know, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” But despite all that I began feeling defeated, uncertain, fear ridden and eventually depressed. I became full of anger, had breakdowns were I cried uncontrollably, had suicidal thoughts (which progressed to me thinking of ways to carry out the act).

I too, like one of the callers, had concerns about yoga and the music that was played. I would say the name of Jesus and try to meditate on Him while in class. But when you enter into someone else’s world (idolatry) you’re not experienced enough to know what to look out for. It appeared innocent enough to empty out our minds (you think empty out negative thoughts, etc.). But God’s Word say’s something different in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” As you said, God says fill your mind.

From my experience I would never practice yoga again. If we know better we should do better. I’ve just been given the knowledge that a yoga posture represents an offering to a Hindu god. Just because I put scripture to it, doesn’t erase the fact that I’m still making an offering to a Hindu god. It appears as though we would put yourself in the midst of a battle, trying to do this and that instead of this or that. You can’t make something right just by changing one aspect of it.

  15. With all the filthy poses that are more common now in regular Yoga. I found PraiseMoves to be a great way to bypass the unnecessary and focus on the extraordinary.

Being a full-time dad and pet owner, you can imagine my life is very hectic. With that said, after double-checking homework and cooking dinner, my nights are always filled with at least an hour of PraiseMoves (and sometimes a few episodes of 7th Heaven if the kids earned it! Haha.)

From a hardworking man that knows a thing or two about being fit and healthy. I couldn’t possibly thank Laurette enough. And anyone willing to listen I always give High Praise, to PraiseMoves.

  16. Many know about the Yoga trial in Encinitas Ca. The “judge” ruled that Yoga should be in the schools. If you go to thecoastnews.com and see the new article EUSD accepts $1.4 million yoga grant, you will see that they are getting even more aggressive. Why can’t this be stopped?

  17. Dear Laurette,

I so appreciate this work God has called you to. Thank you for answering His calll with such fervor. I recently listened to the “Up For Debate” program that you were on. Despite the argument that “a rose is still a rose” or that yoga is yoga and changing the title and making slight adaptations is not important, I do believe there is power in words; after all, God reveals Himself to us via His words and it is powerful to hear them (“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God”). Over and over in the Bible, we are exhorted to be mindful of our words. Yes, the heart is the most important part of us, and God sees the heart, but other people cannot, as you have pointed out, and neither can Satan. In fact, we cannot repel the enemy with our thoughts, only with words, especially of praises to Jesus! (Anyway, just because something is popular (as Susan pointed out about Christian yoga), doesn’t mean we ought to do it, in fact, we need to be all the more careful that we are not compromising our honor of God and buying into the world’s ways.) Keep on keeping on Laurette! Can’t wait to begin the program!

    Truly,
    Sheila

  18. Laurette Willis:

Thank you for your position and stand on yoga in September’s Village Green debate in Christianity today. It is always refreshing to find a Christian untainted yet by the “culture relevance” shift. Anything short of what you stated in your comment is dabbling deceptively and dangerously in the occult. Sadly, you may have made some enemies, but today, you made a friend! Continue to be strong and of a good courage(Joshua 1:7)!

  19. I am from Mississippi. Since I am getting older (63), I find my balance and flexibility aren’t what I would like. I’ve taken a few yoga classes, and while I felt better, there were just some things my spirit did not bear witness with. I am looking forward to receiving Praise Moves to get in better shape, body, mind, and soul may God bless you as you bless others.

  20. I’ve been doing yoga for years and had even looked seriously at the Holy Yoga program. I’ve seen many concerning comments about trying to combine “Christian” and “Yoga”. Please help me understand how this is different – so many of the same postures with different names and focus on scripture instead of chanting or “empty” meditation – I love the idea, but is this really different from something like Holy Yoga? Or would you say that that is acceptable because it has removed the alternate spirituality from the practice.
I truly enjoy the workout and health benefits I get from yoga; I do most of it at home to DVDs, and just pray during the meditation and focus on Christ’s spirit in me rather than the spirit of the earth, the sun, etc. If I do the same postures to Christian music does that make it not yoga??
Thank you for your time and comments as I try to sort through all this!
    Becky

  21. I love the way Laurette Willis constantly gives glory to God and not herself, anything that promotes The Word of God in this day and age has my vote!As a Bible believing Christian, the practise of Yoga at my gym has puzzled me for years, what a wonderful alternative God has gifted in the form of Praise Moves, well done to all who have promoted this fantastic workout!

  22. I can’t thank you enough for your videos! I used to practice traditional yoga twice weekly, but I found that it somewhat diluted my otherwise rich Christian lifestyle. The two just didn’t mix. Now I’m happy to say that PraiseMoves has given me and my family a healthy, safe alternative to yoga. Even though the positions are nearly identical to what I’m used to, the God-driven theme and narrated scripture make it a completely new experience.

    Thanks, again!

    – Amala

  23. I am so glad to have found PraiseMoves Gold. I think it is a great way to exercise and praise. However, my back is achy for a few days after I do it. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions?

    1. Hi, Esther – Please be sure to do only so much as you feel comfortable doing. The workouts, although gentle, may still be challenging if doing too much. While I don’t care for the phrase “Listen to your body,” in this instance it is advisable — meaning, “Pay attention to any discomfort and take it easy.” 🙂

  24. Hi Laurette,
I live in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. I am a Christian massage therapist. I would love to learn Praisemoves & offer it here. Can you tell me how I can be trained?
    Thanks & God Bless,
    Donna

  25. I am glad you are supportive of our allies Israel. The Bible says something about Israel is the chosen nation. Israel has also been the target of much terrorism and violence. We should all stand up for what is right. If God is for us then who will be against us? Romans 8:28-31
I look forward to doing some praisemoves because I will buy the fitness dvd you sell.

  26. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2004, I had high blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. I lost 40 pounds between November 2013 -present day. My blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol are in the normal ranges. My problem is my heart is acting up and boy am I flabby! When I move everything shakes (and not in a cute way). When I wave to someone, my arms are still flapping 10 minutes later. I also turn 60 on next Saturday. I need to find an exercise that will help me tighten up without over-taxing my heart and yet will not compromise my Christian faith!

  27. I am from Edmond, Ok. I started yoga about 6 weeks ago after knee surgery. I like how it makes me feel and started it as an alternative to some of the weights I was used to doing. As I started researching more about it’s origin, I was becoming concerned with things I heard people say that went against my Christian beliefs. I looked for an alternative and found PraiseMoves. I am looking forward to receiving the DVD. I begin each day in prayer in scripture before working out, I believe this will extend my time alone with God. Thank you! We do get to Lake Tenkiller, do you have a place people can come by to meet you?

  28. Laurette,

I appreciate your stance on yoga. I so agree! I am 51 and in very good shape. But my joints are “talking” to me lately. I have “crunchy” knees. 🙂 lol

I really like working out using The Firm, Chalene Johnson –Turbo Jam, as well as Zumba! (saw the Mira work-out on your website! looks fun!)

Chalene Johnson has a new program out. Its called Piyo– a mixture of yoga and pilates. You don’t know how tempted I was to get this program–even though I was conflicted about the “yoga” part. I have some online friends doing this program. It is supposed to be easier on the joints.

I even mentioned this to my husband and he gently reminded me of my stance on yoga. I don’t want to open a door to the Enemy. Funny, how in my mind I kept hearing a little voice say, “oh, this work-out is harmless!” I still felt a check in my spirit!

I remembered Praise Moves and decided to see if you had any opinions on this type of work-out. I was pleased to see your 40 day challenge. So, I just ordered my kit. And another perk of your program is that I saved $40-80!

I plan to incorporate Praise Moves w/my other work-outs!

Thank you for exposing yoga for what it is! We worship the only true and living God!

    Blessings to you!

    Linda Gray

  29. Hi I live in London UK. Just wanted to say that guys can enjoy these videos as well, Ive done yoga/Pilate on and off over the years, usually in my lunch breaks to get away from the computer at work. Now retired, so enjoy doing these exercises for general fitness and prevent lower back problems. I’m much happier doing a Christian based exercise program. Keep up the good work, may God Bless you all.
