"Who Told You That You Were Naked?" Genesis 3:11

Talk about an unusual word from the Lord!

I was meditating on this scripture during my prayer time the other day, and realized it has relevance for all of us when we have thoughts that point to our inadequacies, insufficiencies and weaknesses.

You'll remember that during this historical account from Genesis, chapter 3 (I don't like to call it a “story,” because that sounds make-believe), our ancestors Adam and Eve sinned and did what God commanded them not to do.

They hid from God. They saw they were no longer covered (some say they were no longer covered with the glory of God; God's glory was their clothing or covering — animals have fur, we were meant to be covered with the glory of God).

Adam told God they were hiding from Him because they realized they were naked. God replied, “Who told you that you were naked?”

Facing the Red Sea?

Do you wonder how you’re going to go through what you’re facing right now (like the Israelites facing the Red Sea before the waves parted)? Or, are you unsure if you can do what you believe the Lord is calling you to do—this next step He is *dealing with you* to take? I want you to know that He will equip you.

You can ask yourself that question.

You–the real you (the “spirit man” inside) are to encourage your soul (mind, will and emotions), as in “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name” (Ps. 103:1).

In similar manner, you (the “spirit man”) can ask yourself that question when you hear thoughts such as “I can't do it!!! I don't know what to do!!! I'm confused, weak, stupid” (fill-in-the-blank). All these and worse have come to my mind from time-to-time!

Give yourself a ” good talking to! “

Speak to your soul: “Hey, wait a minute! Who told you that you were naked — without God's covering? His Word tells me that where I am weak, He is strong! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! The joy of the Lord is my strength, and what's more I have the mind of Christ, according to the Holy Spirit-inspired Scriptures!”

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1).

So REJOICE! How can you be “naked” when wearing a garment of praise, a robe of salvation, and the whole armor of God?!!!

I jes' preached m'self happy! Gloooooooooooooory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
