Day Fifteen: Fasting Update – Rewards for Fasting #8 – “Is this not the fast that I have chosen… And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard…” (Isaiah 58:6&8).
Reward #8: Righteousness going before you and the Glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
In the King James version, “rear guard” is translated “rereward,” which means: a. inheritance c. provision b. rear guard d. rest.
We have all experienced adversity and challenging experiences. Isn't it good to know that you have a shield of protection before you and behind you?
The Glory — the manifested presence “heavy with everything good” and magnificence — of the Lord will be your rear guard. No wonder the Armor of the Lord in Ephesians 6 only has armor for the FRONT of you. You don't need any thing else when you have the Glory of the Lord!!!
Do it Now — Put on the Armor of God!
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:10-18).
