Day Thirteen: Fasting Update – Rewards for Fasting #6 – “Is this not the fast that I have chosen…Then your light shall break forth like the morning...” (Isaiah 58:6&8
Reward #6: Then your light shall break forth as the morning!
You will receive greater revelation during your fast. Have you ever been reading your Bible and all of a sudden something dawns on you? That's revelation. The Bible can come alive to you in a new way as never before.
Martin Luther translated the Bible from Hebrew and Greek to German, and it is said he prayed and fasted over every work that he translated. Luther's translation is still being used by German people today, and is considered one of the most accurate and of highest quality.
Be Open to Extraordinary Ideas from God.
Ordinary people like you and me can receive extraordinary revelations from God. He uses ordinary people — with recreated spirits made in the image of God and housed in “jars of clay.” God can give you an idea during your fast that will catapult your life to the next level — an idea for ministry, for business, for solving a seemingly impossible situation with your family or financial picture.
“You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways” (Job 22:28). During this time of fasting, decree and declare by speaking out of your mouth those things you want to have happen in line with God's word.
Practical Example for You:
For instance, if you have been tithing and offering (Malachi 3:10; Luke 6:38, and others), and are believing for greater finances to meet your family's needs AND be able to give more to the work of the Lord around the world, you can declare from Deuteronomy 28:8:
“God shall command the blessing on us in our storehouses (bank accounts), unto everything to which we set our hand, and in the land He is giving us. I thank You, Lord, that you are leading and guiding us — and Your light is shining on our path. We receive revelation from You and clearly see the way to go! We will be careful to give You ALL the glory for it in Jesus' mighty name. Amen!” And so it is.
