Using Your God-Given Imagination

Using Your God-Given Imagination

“O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee” (1 Chronicles 29:18 KJV).

The word “imagination” is used in a positive way only once in the Bible, and yet God gave us imaginations to be able to SEE with the eye of faith those things we believe we have received and to praise the Lord that we HAVE those things.

All of the other times the word is used in a negative way (such as in casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God” 2 Corinthians 10:5 MEV).

Your imagination is a powerful force. It has to be engaged. We have to harness it and be intentional in how we use it. If we just allow our imaginations to run rampant, our imagination becomes “vain” (futile, useless).

“They became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened” (Romans 1:21).

A Quick Imagination Exercise

One of the things our Bold and Beautiful Group is doing to experience being *Healthy, Fit and Free* in Jesus is Intermittent Fasting.

If you've made a commitment to fast from 8:00 PM to 8:00-10:00 AM the next day, don't be surprised if you are tempted to break that commitment around 9:00 or 10:00 that same night!

So here's what I do: I use what I like to call my *SANCTIFIED IMAGINATION*  😉 and see myself the next morning pleased and thrilled and PRAISING the Lord that I kept to my Intermittent Fasting commitment.

And you know what? The next morning I DO wake up pleased and thrilled and praising the Lord that I kept to my Intermittent Fasting commitment!

The more you do it, the easier it becomes, too. It's just who you are — a person who honors her commitment to herself!

Projecting yourself by faith into a positive view of your future is using your imagination in a wonderful way! You are also keeping the Word of God before your eyes [Do not let (God's words) depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart,” Proverbs 4:21].

I invite you to try it for yourself. Use your God-given imagination to SEE yourself well, to SEE yourself prospered, to SEE your children serving the Lord. When you use your God-given imagination to SEE all the GOOD the Lord has for you, receive it by faith (Mark 11:24) and continue to thank and praise Him that you have it, you will see it come to pass in the physical, too!

God is faithful to His Word to perform it!
