21 Days of Fasting - What is Your WHY?

DAY THIRTEEN“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible‘”     (Matthew 19:26).

At the beginning of our fast, I suggested you write down the reasons you were fasting – what you would like to accomplish.

Have you received answers and revelation?

New ideas?

Surprising new thoughts – or answers to problems that had perplexed you?

Write them down. I can't stress that strongly enough. We often think, “Oh, I'll remember that,” and then a day or so later we wonder, “What was that idea that occurred to me the other day?”

Have you asked the Lord, “What's My WHY?”

That's a powerful thing to do. Ask Him What, Why and How. He is your Father and Creator, after all. He knows better than anyone else.

Here are some good questions for your quiet time. Be sure to bring your Bible, journal and pen (maybe some Kleenex, too!).

“What do You want me to do, Lord?”

“Why am I here?”

“How can I do what You want me to do?”

I've found that the Lord will always ask us to do something so amazing and wonderful that we could not possibly do it ourselves–we NEED Him. And doesn't that make perfect sense? If you could do this great thing without the Lord, how would He get all the glory? How would others be led to Him by your obedience?

I heard a great quote today: “If your life isn't SUPERNATURAL, it's superficial!” Wow.

WHY do you do the things you do? What motivates you? When you know that, the “HOW” is relatively easy.

MAKE SURE YOUR WHY IS BIG ENOUGH. We serve a big God….and “With God all things are possible.”
