Daniel Fast – Day Five - God Leads in Steps, Not Leaps

Day Five: Fasting Update – “The steps of the righteous are ordered of the Lord, and He delights in their way” (Psalm 37:23).

When we start following the leading of the Lord, it may seem difficult. We want to see the “whole picture” before we even get started.

God usually will lead us one step-at-a-time after we have taken that first step in faith.

“But what if I make a mistake?” I've heard it said that God is big enough to put up a “STOP” sign for us, but He can't get us moving. Only we can do that.

It is much easier to steer a car that is in motion than one that is in “park.” With a little push, even a car in “neutral” can be guided, but it's much more efficient to drive a car that is moving–then it can be steered the right direction.

ARE YOU MOVING?

The Lord has a direction for you to go, but He may have shown you only the first step in that direction.

Are you willing to trust Him enough to guide you along the way? Are you willing to believe that He is big enough and loves you enough to make sure you stay on the right track, going in the right direction to the right destination?

“The STEPS of the righteous are ordered of the Lord…” There really are no “LEAPS” of faith, only steps. And when we follow Him in faith, one day at-a-time, one moment at-a-time (as we do when fasting, putting the flesh aside moment-by-moment to focus on Him instead), the rewards are great — filled with inner peace, and LEAPS of JOY! Glory to God!!!
