Day Twenty: Fasting Update – Rewards for Fasting #13 – “Is this not the fast that I have chosen… Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets (paths) to dwell in…” (Isaiah 58:6&12).
Reward #13: Relationships and Wastelands Restored!
I'll tell you how the Lord turned a “wasteland” in my life into PraiseMoves. But first, have you included the restoration of relationships in your fast? Relationship between husband and wife, parents and children, and other family relations can be restored during your fast.
A dear friend of ours stood on this scripture for the salvation and restoration of her niece and extended family. By the following Christmas — VICTORY!!!
Do you have “wasted places” or “wastelands” in your life? Things you did before you came to Christ, or regrettable things you did even after you became a believer? God can and WILL turn it around if you let Him!
Plan A, B, C….L, M, N…Beauty for Ashes…
The Word says He gives us “beauty for ashes” (Isaiah 61:3), but we must give Him those habits, regrets, frustrations, addictions, guilty pleasures and secrets we hold only to ourselves. GIVE them to the Lord, let go and release them to Him. Allow them be consumed in the fire He is (“Our God is a consuming fire” Hebrews 12:29). What is left? Ashes. All that's left is ashes. Ashes of the sin that once held you in bondage.
Fasting and prayer can take desolate lives and make them fruitful. Fasting can also take sins and regrets of the past and turn them into something wonderful to bring God glory.
THAT'S WHAT PRAISEMOVES IS!!! The Lord took the desolation of my 22 years in yoga (ages 7 to 29) and turned them into the fruitful harvest PraiseMoves Fitness Ministry has become.
He took my yoga and New Age past and turned it into “The Christian ALTERNATIVE to Yoga” — winning souls to Christ, restoring the breach, and enriching the relationships of believers with our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through His Word WITHIN each PraiseMoves posture.
Think you've “blown it” or gone too far to ever be restored? God can! Think you “missed the boat” or “it's too late”? God can!
Remember this word the Lord once told me when we were ministering to a friend who was in jail for some wrong choices he had made. “David, with God, Plan B, C, D or E can STILL be Plan A!”
And as the country preacher used to say, “An' don't let the devil talk ya outta it!” Amen!!!
