CPI Training Session THREE, Parts 1-4

CPI Training Session THREE

Greetings, CPI Trainees!

It is BEST to watch ALL the videos in ONE sitting.

See the HOMEWORK Assignment at the bottom of the page.

1. Check-in. Send a SEPARATE email to praisemoves@gmail.com. Let us know the DATE and TIME you are watching Session THREE.

2. Watch the videos. Have your Bible, Manuals, and Notebook handy.

3. Do your Assignments and PraiseMoves workouts before the next class.

4. Praise the Lord, for He is worthy of ALL the praise–and He will take you the rest of the way!

SPECIAL UPDATE MESSAGE! The first video has a Special Message from Dr. Laurette that will help take your PraiseMoves Classes to the Next Level. After watching the videos on this page, please go to the link to see NolaJeanne's teaching — and she will SHOW you HOW to implement this special *element* into your classes!

Session THREE, Part 1

Session THREE, Part 2

YOUR PRACTICE IS PART TWO.

1. Practice your 2-minute WWW.

2. Practice the 5 PraiseMoves postures AND WHAT YOU SAY for your upcoming video homework.

NOTE: Follow the CPI Guide Script –> You should have already submitted your Guide Script to NolaJeanne.

Submit Your Video On Time. Do not wait until the last minute. Leave extra time in case we require you to re-do your video.

Your 5-Postures Video is due the week of February 19.

Your Video will include:

a. Start with Prayer. At the beginning of your video, start with Prayer from your heart (not reading from a card). Dedicate your workout to the Lord. You will do this at the beginning of every class you teach, so we want to see you start your video with prayer.

***Music question? You may use Christian music with words for WWW – but ONLY instrumental Christian music or classical (not New Age, of course!) for Postures. We want people to FOCUS on the Word and your instruction. You will receive PraiseMoves Class Music CD#1 with your Certificate.

b. Video record yourself teaching ONE student the following five PraiseMoves postures: The Angel, The Reed, The Eagle, The Rainbow, and The Prayer Shawl.

CPI Video example light

(Remember, if you are not able to record a video in person — or do a Zoom you can record — with your student, you may make an appointment with one of our CPI Trainers to do a Live Zoom where you can teach them your 5 postures. Email NolaJeanne at nolajeannepm@gmail.com

1) We need to be able to see you and your students from head to toe. The best way to do this we have found is to situate yourself, your student, and the camera in a V-shape. Your video camera is at the Point of the V. Your student and you are the endpoints of the V, facing one another, but angled slightly toward the camera so we can see BOTH of your faces.

2) Be sure to watch your students.

3) Walk over to your student a time or two to cue them and correct their form WITHOUT touching them. You can model the correct form for them instead.

4) Be sure to SAY the corresponding Scripture and invite your students to REPEAT the scripture after you.

–Practice the 5 PraiseMoves postures AND WHAT YOU SAY for your upcoming video.

– What do you say? Guide your students into a posture, breathing, Scripture (invite them to repeat after you; add an element of praise in line with the video above, such as “We thank You, Lord, that Your Word says…*scripture*…”

— Don’t be robotic here – be yourself! You’re thankful for God’s Word already–just let some of your thankfulness show. Your students will pick up on your genuineness and it will bless them, letting them know they can enter into praise easily.

We also call this the “Higher Dimension of Praise.” Keep it simple and it will flow easily for you.

–You are a Leader and a Minister of the Gospel. Your students will follow you. We are “not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for every who believes” (Romans 1:16).

WATCHING HOW NOLAJEANNE TEACHES WILL BE INVALUABLE FOR YOU. She is one of the very best, and her students love her. See the links below for NJ videos.

–Mention benefits (I like doing this toward the beginning “This posture is great for…”). Mention contraindications when guiding into a posture (“If your neck is sensitive, look straight ahead instead of up”).

— Incorporate what we call the “Higher Dimension of Praise” from the video in the last session about the revelation from Galatians 3:5 and Jeremiah 33:11 (“I thank You, Lord, that Your Word says…” or “We praise You, Father that…” and then follow with the Scripture).

This does not have to be done for each and every posture in your classes (let the Holy Spirit guide you). Invite students to repeat after you.

Push through your comfort zone and past the fear of doing something new and “un-COMFORT-able” – lean on the Comforter, and be willing to *feel* foolish. It looks good on us, no matter how offended our pride, flesh, and minds may be (I speak from experience here). ?

Example from Nola Jeanne Baird, CPI Trainer & Coordinator:

Notice that her first few words add the “Higher Dimension of Praise”…

“For example,  For Mt.Zion, I now say:  Father, we thank You that Your Word says, ‘those who trust in the Lord are like Mt Zion which cannot be moved but abides forever. Ps 125:1.'”  See how I prefaced the scripture with a statement of thanksgiving?

Another example for The Eagle,  I now say:  “Those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isa 40:31′ – thank You for Your Word, Lord.”

Please Note: Upload your video via YouTube.com (a free service). Mark the video “UNLISTED.” DO NOT mark it “private” – we cannot open private videos. Send us a link to the video at praisemoves@gmail.com

Final Exam is on Monday, February 27. You have 24 hours from the time it is sent to complete it. The exam itself MUST be submitted online NO LATER than Tuesday, February 28  afternoon (Central time). It will be a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and written test that you will take online.

Here's a VIDEO OF DR. LAURETTE DOING THE FIRST 5 POSTURES. This is an abbreviated set of postures giving the Scripture reference only for each posture. For a more complete explanation of each posture with corresponding scripture, please see the CPI Training Manual and the PraiseMoves DVD.

BE SURE TO LOOK BELOW FOR YOUR HOMEWORK, AND FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW FOR NolaJeanne's HANDS-ON TRAINING.

BE PREPARING FOR THE CLOSED-BOOK EXAM NOW by taking notes and practicing. Expect to do excellently well. You will!

Homework Assignment:

1. Study these 5 postures: Tallit (The Prayer Shawl), The Star, Rest & Stretch, The Scroll, and The Vine.

2. Practice and study pages 63-74. Use some of the VERBAL CUES for these postures. Practice teaching in front of a mirror.

3. Know one-to-two BENEFITS for each posture. This will become second nature to you as you become more aware of how the body moves and is strengthened or stretched in each posture.

4. Be aware of some of the most important CONTRAINDICATIONS of each posture (for example, if someone has a neck injury, they should not lift their head in The Eagle posture).

5. Write these 5 postures on Index Cards. Note a few verbal cues to help you remember how to guide your students.

–>> IMPORTANT: You will use Index Cards or pocket-protected sheets in a 3-ring binder, ideally on a music stand, to refer to when teaching during your class AND your 5-Postures video.

6. Practice repeating the SCRIPTURE VERSES and REFERENCES that go along with each of these postures.

7. Practice your 2-minute WWW.

Send your solo WWW to us via a YouTube link (marked “unlisted” – NOT private) to info@praisemoves.com.

Your 2-minute WWW VIDEO is DUE as soon as possible. Do not wait until the last minute. Leave extra time in case we require you to re-do your video.

Your 5-Postures video is due the week of February 19.

8. Please Remove Your Video After it has been Reviewed (and you receive your Video Evaluation). Thank you!

Be sure to SEE NolaJeanne's Hands-on Class for You HERE: http://miradance.weebly.com/cpi2.html – Dr. Laurette's Message about Praise is repeated on this page for our Recertifying CPIs. There is no need for you to view it again. Instead, immediately view NolaJeanne's Lesson.

  1. The practice session was great! It was unexpected, but I appreciated the opportunity to “test” my recall of the material. The online course is going so well.

  2. I really enjoyed session 3. Quite challenging but I can do all things through God who strengthens me. I truly appreciate Nola’s interview. I work as a nurse in an age care setting and it has always been my desire to share and proclaim Jesus. This is a great opportunity and such an encouragement. Maybe PraiseMoves can come up with a chair workout. I will be looking forward to that. Thanks to God for leading me to PraiseMoves and God bless us all. Great job Laurette. Praise the Lord!

  3. Enjoyed the practice session!! I like the way you’re breaking it down for us to learn the WWW and postures…small chunks at a time are easier to learn and not so intimidating!! Especially loved the interview with Nola Jean…what a sweet lady and wonderful woman of God!!

  4. Great interview with Nola Jeanne. I hope to see a PraiseMoves Chair Senior in the near future. I have a heart of compassion to teach Seniors too, and I would love to see some fresh ideas that are PraiseMoves. 🙂

  5. Just wait ’till you see PraiseMoves Gold for seniors and those with limited ability. First certification for PraiseMoves Gold will be at the National Conference in June — along with MIRA! – our Latin-inspired high-energy workout with the Word!

  6. Nola Jeanne, your heart for God is so incredibly refreshing. I love the senior advice; I will file it away for when the day comes that God leads me in the direction for senior classes.
I love that Laurette Is involving seasoned CPIs. I hope she may rope Cynthia Thomas in for a sample class from Belvoir; she is an inspiration & strong Christian woman, too.
Be encouraged & know that God will continue to use all of us in our individuality!! It reminded me of:
    Romans 12
4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

    Love to all! Annette DC

  7. Practice, practice, practice, having recorded myself on my laptop I can see that I really need to get a handle on speaking while doing the postures. I can do the physical, talking through the instructions and the Scriptures is challenging as I have never done this before, but praise God! I can do all things I need to do in life through Christ who strengthens me! Thank you Nola Jeanne, and thank you Laurette! I believe that recording ourselves is a great idea, because it is good for feedback, but I am not ready to send it in yet, I think I need to do a couple more takes … 😀
Really enjoying this, it is wonderful

  8. Words can not tell how this wonderfull online course is building me up on top of Gods blessings.
The course is wonderfully structured, so durable and the support is great.
    God is good.
Love watching Laurette, so talented and beautifull and filled with the Holy Spirit.
    Words can not tell.

    Love to all

  9. I am so grateful to God that He leads such sensitive-to-His-Spirit, tender-hearted, uncompromising ministers to PraiseMoves. We like to say, “Jesus always sends us His very best!” – and each of you are a clear indication of that truth! Glory to God!

  10. Laurette…I couldn’t get past the special video message about Galatians 3:5 and taking Praisemoves to the next level. This is awesome! You are so right…there is POWER in the SPOKEN Word! God hears our faith by what we speak. And coupling our personal words of praise with our SPEAKING OF THE WORD…Wow!!! There’s just no telling what God will do. Setting the captives free is promised!! (Jeremiah 33:11) In the next verse (Jer 33:12) He says that “In this place which is desolate…there shall again be a dwelling place of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.” This is another wonderful promise…fruitfulness and life to that which WAS desolate.

This morning, the Lord led me to Ezekiel 36:34-36…when you have the time, take a look at it. Your message is total confirmation to me that God wants to do some mighty things!!! Thank you for sharing your heart! God has spoken it, and He WILL do it!

    1. Perfect, Debbie – look at the correlation with what the Lord gave you this morning – He is so good!
      Ezekiel 36:34-36
      New King James Version (NKJV)
“The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. I, the Lord, have spoken it, and I will do it.”
AMEN! We are building up the Desolate places. And see HOW this is done – NOTICE DESOLATION IS MENTIONED FIVE TIMES IN THESE 3 VERSES (Strong’s Concordance 8074 and 8077).

THIS IS AMAZING IN LIGHT OF WHAT WE’RE DISCUSSING WITH THE FIRST VIDEO:
DESOLATE IN HEBREW IS SHAMEM (from Gesenius’s Lexicon, translated and edited by S. P. Tregelles in 1847, 1857).
      (1) to be astonished (the primary idea is that
of SILENCE, being PUT TO SILENCE…
      (2) to be laid waste, desolated (as places laid
waste and SILENT and QUIET, whereas in those
      places INHABITED THERE IS NOISE).

Consider: “the abomination of desolation” in
      Daniel 11:31, 12:11; Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14.

Points to ponder and meditate upon — AND BE YE NOT SILENT! Glory to God. (:

  11. I feel like I am falling behind, but I know I am moving forward in God’s work and what He has called me out to do. The training is so Spirit driven and God ordered.

  12. Lovely class, Laurette, so full of all good things, and Nolajeanne, you are pure inspiration!

As I closed for the night, this is the Scripture that I found my heart happily saying:

“The Lord is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the Strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?”

    Indeed! 🙂

    God bless to all.

    Julia

  13. Great teachings! Great encouragement! Great reminders. I was especially blessed by the 18 minute video link by Laurette and the NolaJeanne interview.

  14. I just finished watching the first video in session 3. So inspiring!!! Thank you for your love and passion for Jesus and people and for you diligence in mentoring disciples for Christ!

  15. Thank you so much for your hard work and diligence and your willingness to share your knowledge. Thank you for your encouragement and faith. Thank you for hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit and obeying. GOD IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!

  16. This was a great session. Being free to incorporating praise is a blessing for me because I am very exuberant in my worship and praise and would honestly have difficulty containing it. That’s why I love PraiseMoves. It was an answer to prayer. However, it was my compassion and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ that finally led me to commit to CPI training. My heart is toward seniors, those with limited mobility and the obese. I am looking forward to getting certified in PM Gold during the conference in June. I want to save lives and I believe this is a tool to do that in more ways than one. #GRATEFUL

  17. I am so overcome with His presence after watching part one (lesson three) on your video today… my goodness, the Lord has truly blessed me with this opportunity to praise Him through PraiseMoves. I have four adult children deep into Yoga, but yet they were brought up in the church after I was saved in 1995. I remember the day I was impacted again by a sermon from my husband just a month ago on faith comes by ‘hearing’ and hearing by the Word of God and I remember what a Ramah Word is was that day.., now you confirm it with this lesson from Galations 3:5. Praise the Lord, Laurette! Praise the Lord!!!
